Japanese forms often require characters in full-width format. Typing these characters manually takes time. The halffull utility automates this task. It converts half-width characters to full-width format using a single keyboard shortcut. This tool runs in your menubar and listens for your input.

Once you install the app, start it from your Applications folder. A small icon appears in your menubar at the top of your screen. This icon indicates that the app is active.
To convert your text:
This software requires a Mac computer running macOS. It uses minimal system resources. You can keep the program running in the background without affecting your computer speed. We designed this tool for users who fill out Japanese web forms often.
The program works locally on your machine. It does not send your typed text to any external servers. Your data stays on your personal device at all times. The code is open source and you can view it at any time on our GitHub page.
Does this app change my keyboard layout? No, it only converts highlighted text when you press the shortcut.
Can I change the shortcut? Currently, the app uses ⌥F as the default trigger to ensure consistency.
What happens if the app stops working? Click the menubar icon and select "Quit," then restart the app from your Applications folder.
